The launch lecture of Marathon2500 by Professor Paul Cartledge, A.G. Leventis Chair of Greek Culture at Cambridge University, was successful.
We had more than 45 schools, universities and organizations participate virtually via webinar and phone in addition to the packed live audience we had at NYU's Center for Ancient Studies.
Professor Cartledge's terrific kickoff lecture was praised by those in attendance at NYU as well as the global remote network that extended from Italy's University of Bologna through Oxford, Wales and all parts of North America.
We will upload a podcast of Professor Cartledge's lecture in the next week even as we prepare for Professor Peter Krentz's lecture - "The Battle Itself" at Georgetown University Tuesday, October 12 at 7pm.
